The primaries are about over, so it’s time to look to the fall election. Trump’s polls are way down, and Democrats are ahead on the generic congressional ballot polls by around 6.4%, which should easily be big enough to overcome the Republicans’ gerrymandering advantage. So let’s assume Democrats take the House.

For a long time, conventional wisdom said the Senate was a bridge too far. Democrats need to flip four seats, net, and the states that are up weren’t looking favorable. But a combination of bad national issues (affordability, the Iran War, …) and bad candidates (Ken Paxton) is overcoming that natural GOP advantage. So while there’s still a lot of work to be done, Democrats have a real shot at achieving a Senate majority. That’s the topic of the featured post, which should be out between 10 and 11 EDT.
