As much as I would love to capitalize on all the new readers who found the blog last week*, it’s not going to happen.
I’ve spent most of this week hovering over the hospital bed of my 90-year-old father, trying to figure out whether or not this is his final health crisis.
The whole point of the Sift is that I scour the internet looking for the stories you ought to be reading, I check the facts and the framing of the stories the mainstream media is covering, and I try to provide the kind of perspective and background that intelligent readers are looking for.
There’s no way any of that was going to happen this week. I could probably go through my files of half-written articles and throw some stuff together, but that would be no service to my regular readers and give new readers a poor introduction to what I’m trying to do here.
Maybe next week.
* Last week was the second-most-popular week in weeklysift.com history, with 38,000 views. Most of them were for The Distress of the Privileged.

I came across your Distress of the Privileged post today and loved it! I’m a social worker and have seen the damage of oppression and privilege. Take care of your family and yourself. My mother is disabled and a cancer survivor so I know how tough it can be. Don’t pressure yourself to post again until you’re ready.

I’ve been where you are at and know that you are making the right choice. Family first for sure. And don’t give up hope. Sometimes a person rallies at the last moment and is fine for months if not longer.

anche gli utlimi sroneeshct sembrano confermare le impressioni fin qui maturate: eccellente realizzazione dei nemici (sia per design che per modellazione), ottimi anche gli effetti particellari, gli shader e l’illuminazione in generale mentre le ambientazione sembrano scarsamente ispirate artisticamente e, tuttosommato, molto povere per poligoni e texture (ma sembra non ci sia ombra di aliasing).se manterranno la fludit all’altezza di quanto visto nei video, credo che visivamente dovrebbe rendere pi di quando non avvenga con immagini statiche. attendo con molto ottimismo questo gioco, l’apetto grafico mi interessa fino ad un certo punto (purch la machina sia sfruttata a dovere, come sembra avvenga in questo caso) mentre mi aspetto una elevata giocabilit . rimane solo un rimpianto: se high voltage, che comunque una casa minore e con ridotte capacit d’investimento, riuscita ad ottenre questi risultati, ci avessero provato capcom o ea, minchia, che gioco usciva fuori!
chi critica sto gioco secnodo me rosica perch non sa usare il wiimote e allora lo vorrebbe per la propria ps2 ma dico spettacolare e poi lo vogliamo capire una volta per tutte che non si pu fare alcun TERMINE DI PARAGONE TRA WII E CONTROPARTI? ma dico io dopo due anni come si pu dire sempre le steesse cose.. per la wii sto gioco favoloso graficamente parlando e dimostra che si p fare molto di pi di quanto fatto fin ora quindi basta per il resto l’importante una bella storia dietro ed un game play che sfrutti il 110%delle potenziliat della console bianca di casa Nintendo . basta se volete giocare vedendo un in carne ed ossa compratevi un computer spendete un patrimonio e fatevelo come quello che probabilmente avr solo Bill sulla sua scrivania altrimenti non ROMPETEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ..
