The Monday Morning Teaser

The main story this week is obvious: “Trump is Guilty”. That post will be out shortly. The gist: In all the yelling about Trump’s conviction, nobody is really disputing the essence of the case: He banged a porn star, had his fixer pay her off before the voters could find out, and then cooked the books to hide the payment from election monitors. Those aren’t just “alleged” any more; they’re established facts. They’ll continue to be established facts even if some legal technicality keeps him out of prison.

The weekly summary will cover Justice Alito’s predictable refusal to recuse himself from Trump cases, where he is anything but impartial. Mexico elected its first female and first Jewish president. A New Hampshire law similar to Florida’s Don’t-Say-Gay has been blocked as unconstitutionally vague. Rick Perlstein and Cory Doctorow wrote articles you should read. And the Negro Leagues are finally recognized in the official baseball statistics.

That should be out around noon.

It should be joy to nobody that one political candidate is weaponizing the department of justice once again like the Russia Hoax 2016 to interfere with our rights as citizens to choose whomever we wish to vote for

The only “weaponizing of the DoJ” is what’s promised if Donny Corruption should somehow return to the WH and no longer have people like Jeff Sessions (imagine – Jeff Sessions was his most patriotic AG – the mind boggles) refusing to do this very thing.

He’s not some innocent that the head of government who wants to retain power is “trumping” up charges against, spinning them out of whole cloth and forcing his deputies to prosecute someone by using a corrupt process and fabricated evidence. That’s today’s Republicans polluting Congress.

At some point, you cultists are going to have to accept your Dear Leader was first protected by his own DoJ, via Bill Barr, who ordered the federal case to be dropped in an excellent example of political interference, and was originally spared by NY County DA Alvin Bragg from even taking the case to a grand jury because it wasn’t ready.

Two years later, when the evidence of what Donny Corruption had done and the effect it had on “interfering with our rights as citizens to choose whomever we wish to vote for”, which was the purpose of the scheme in the first place, a grand jury of those same citizens you seem to value so highly found that evidence to be persuasive enough to return a true bill, and then another group of those citizens unanimously found him guilty on all 34 charges.

And, this all went on while the defendant repeatedly engaged in outrageous attacks on anyone remotely connected to the case, seeking to obstruct justice and inspire his brownshirt mobs to threaten violence should he be held accountable, something they, of course, have done. This behavior by any other person would have landed the defendant in jail for contempt; hopefully his punishment will include the prison time he deserves for this behavior.

You can still vote for anyone you want to. That you would so much as consider a person who has demonstrated to everyone what NYC has known for decades – that Donald J. Trump is a noxious stain on humanity who can only express himself through fraud, grifting, lying, and sexual predation – tells us all we need to know about you.
